A pipette which is provided with a piston, with a toothed rack connected with the piston, with a striking pin resting against the toothed rack, and with a dosage lever mounted on the striking pin. By depressing the lever, the filled pipette can be emptied as successive doses of specified magnitude. The pipette is additionally provided with a lifting lever (20) placed at the side of the toothing, the distance of the said lever from the end of the toothed rack being adjustable (24) as desired and the said lever permitting the striking pin to push the toothed rack over a specified distance only. In this way, it is possible to adjust the magnitude of the emptying step as desired. Moreover, the toothed rack is provided with a second toothing (5), a cogwheel (7) resting against it and, at the other side, resting against a second toothed rack (11), whose top end is provided with a press knob (12). By pressing this knob downwards, the toothed dosage rack with its piston is shifted to its upper position, and the pipette is filled.

The invention relates to laboratory pipette designs and can be used in laboratory practice for metering doses of fluid.
The purpose of the invention is to simplify the dosing process by allowing one-handed use.

The pipette contains an elongated holder 1, at the lower end of which there is a cylinder 2 in which a piston 3 is mounted. The cylinder 2 can be fixed to the holder 1 by means of, for example, a bayonet coupling. The upper end of the piston 3 is attached parallel to the holder 1 of the rack bar 4 for dosing with two rows of teeth 5 and 6 for moving and dosing, respectively. To the row of teeth 6 for metering by spring 7, the hammer 8, mounted on the lever 9, is located on the axis 10 located in the holder. In addition, the lever 9 is connected with the spring 11, which seeks to keep the lever 9 in the upper position. The stop of the striker 8 in the lower position is provided by the limiter 12. The gear wheel 14 mounted on the axis 13 interacts with a number of teeth 5 of the rack 4 for metering. On the other hand, the gear wheel 14 interacts with the gear rack 15, on the upper end of which a push handle 16 is mounted.
An elastic lifting lever 17 with a cam 18 is installed on the side of teeth and pins 6 of the toothed rack 4 to retract the impact 8 from the teeth and pins 6 when lifting the lever 9. The upper end of the lifting lever 17 is fitted with a guide pin 19 installed in the guide groove 20, made in the adjusting wheel 21, which is installed on the axis 22.
The upper end of the toothed rack 4 is also provided with a cam 23, which, when the toothed rack is approaching the lower position, shifts the lifting lever 17 toward the striker 8.

The pipette works as follows.
At the moment when pbPiar 9 is in the upper position and, therefore, the drummer 8 is retracted from the row of teeth 6, and the piston 3 occupies the lower position in the cylinder 2, the handle 16 is pressed, resulting in rotation of the gear 14, which raises the toothed rack 4, and at the same time the piston in cylinder 2. Thus, vacuum is created in cylinder 2 and the cylinder is filled with liquid.
After the cylinder 2 is completely filled, the handle 16 is pushed to the limit, and the dosing procedure can be started using the lever 9. When the metering lever 9 is pressed, the spring 7 presses the hammer 8 into the teeth 6, as a result of which the hammer 8 begins to push the rack 4 and the piston 3 down until the hammer 8 rests against the stop 12 and stops. After removing the force acting on the metering lever 9, the spring 11 returns it to the upper position. In this case, the striker 8 must slip over the row of teeth 6 and take a position close to its upper position, from which it is retracted from the teeth 6 by means of a cam 18 of an elastic lifting lever 17.
The metering operation may be repeated until the rack 4 and the piston 3 are in their lower positions. At the same time, the cam 23 mounted on the upper end of the rack 4 is brought into contact with the lifting lever 17 and lifts it to the height of the teeth 6. On the other hand, the hammer 8 is moved away from the rod by a cam 18 of the lifting lever 17 to prevent the contact of the drummer with teeth 6 when the lever 9 is pressed again for dosing. This eliminates the impact of the piston 3 on the bottom of the cylinder 2, and at the same time the inaccuracy of the dosage of the last portion.
When the adjusting wheel 21 is rotated using the guide groove 20 and the pin 19, the lifting lever 17 is moved up or down, resulting in a shift of the cam 18 mounted on the lower end of the lifting lever, which determines the amount of movement of the striker 8 without contact with a number of teeth 6, those. skipping 1–4 or more teeth with each press of the metering lever 9. In this way, one-, two-, three, or fourfold dose changes are achieved.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 and 2 pipette rows of teeth 5 and 6 are installed one after the other.
